Dwell this summer on a stylish garden bench with super sleek design.
The Banco series comes from Dutch brand WOOOD’s own production collection and meets the latest design trends. The black metal frame is sharply cut and forms an eye-catching combination with the warm-coloured Thermo Ayous wood. Material The metal frame of the Banco series consists of a hollow construction with a matt black powder coating. It is recommended to place tile/floor protectors on the underside to enjoy a flawless base for longer. The seat and back are made of fast-growing African softwood called Thermo Ayous. The Ayous used for this series is FSC certified wood and thus comes from well-managed forests. Because Ayous wood has an open cell structure, it can be perfectly thermally preserved by steam or heat treatment without the use of chemicals. This makes the wood comparable to a hardwood.
Dimensions
This stylish garden bench has an overall height of 78 cm, width of 132 cm and depth of 82 cm. The seat height is 41 cm and with a seat depth of 34 cm, the Banco garden bench is very comfortable. The backrest is 46 cm measured from the seat and thus offers fine support. The robust woodwork has a thickness of just over 4 cm. The metal base is 5 cm wide and stands out slightly at the back for firm balance. The space between the legs is 110 cm.
Maintenance
This tropical wood is heated up to 215° Celsius. The “baking” makes Thermo Ayous more resistant to moisture, exceptionally stable and will remain maintenance-free for years (Durability class I). After Thermo Ayous wood has been thermally treated, it has a beautiful modern and warm appearance and changes with weather influences to then gradually age evenly (just like tropical hardwood). Over time, superficial cracks and fissures may appear in the wood, but this will not impair its quality. Do you want to preserve the original colour as much as possible? Then you can treat the wood with an oil, coating or stain for outdoor wood (preferably including UV protection). However, a slight discolouration will always occur. We recommend treating the wood once or twice a year. Ask the shop for advice on the suitable treatment product and how to apply it. Treating the wood is at your own risk, voiding the warranty.
